11. Beneath the Surface

Hello, hello, hello! I hope you’re all doing well.

Earlier today I came across a list of 95 “get to know me” questions and thought it would be a fun way to share some facts about myself with you guys. But, don’t worry, this list does not contain all 95 questions. There’s only 94.

Kidding. There’s 20 questions. 🙂

1. Where were you born?

I was born in New York, which is always such a hard thing to explain, and here’s why: (the extremely short version)

So, whenever I tell people this, they automatically assume that I’m from the city. Let me just put it out there right away, I am not from the city. Then, when I actually try to tell them I’m from a town called New Windsor, they still don’t understand. Apparently, not many people have heard of it, so I have to come up with the standard, easier reply, “It’s about an hour from the city.” Talk about a first world problem.

2. What is your favorite food?

Tacos. I could probably live off of them if I had to.

3. Are you a dog person or cat person?

I love both, so I’d be fine with either one.

4. Are you scared of heights?

Yes and no. It kind of depends on the situation. Roller coasters, sure. Top of a super tall lighthouse, eh not so much. (The only reason I gave that example is because I climbed one in Florida, and I stuck myself to the wall instead of going towards the railing. It was quite terrifying.)

5. What is something you wish you were gifted at doing?

Either singing or playing an instrument.

6. What is the last book you read?

Well, I’m in the middle of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. But the last book I finished was 13 Reasons Why. I highly recommend both of these (as well as the rest of the Harry Potter series of course.)

7. What is an ideal first date for you?

I’m a real simple girl, so I’d love a date where I can really get to know a guy. I’ve always thought it would be fun to go to dinner and then do something like mini golf or bowling.

8. What is your star sign?

Cancer ♋️

9. Do you have a tattoo?

No, but I desperately want one!

10. What was the first concert you ever attended?

For my 13th birthday, my sister took me to see the Jonas Brothers, which at the time was amazing because I was obsessed with them. (To be honest, I still love listening to them every now and then.)

11. What’s your favorite quote?

I’m a sucker for quotes, but I’ve always loved the one I used for my senior quote in the yearbook:

Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

12. What is the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

I live in North Carolina now, so the farthest I’ve been from home is whenever I go back to New York. However, the furthest I’ve been without my family is to the Outer Banks of NC when I was in seventh grade.

13. Who was your first celebrity crush?

Probably Jesse McCartney.

14. Have you ever dated two people at the same time?

Considering I’ve barely dated one person at a time, this would be a big fat no.

15. What app do you use most?

If I had answered this 3 weeks ago, I would definitely have said Instagram or Twitter, but that has changed since then. I’ve been off of social media for those aforementioned 3 weeks, so I’d have to say I use WordPress the most 🙂

16. What is your full name?

So, I’m just gonna go with first name for this since Jules is only a nickname. My first name is actually Julianne.

17. Are you named after anyone?

I’m not, but I was supposed to be born in July (I came a little early since my birthday is June 27), and my mom kinda used July as inspiration I guess. I find it funny that even though I was born in June, Julianne still stuck hahaa. I like to make the joke that I could’ve been Juneianne. Let’s just say I’m glad it’s only a joke and not reality.

18. If you could give your younger self any advice what would it be?

Oh, I could tell her so many things, but if I had to pick one, I’d tell her to build herself up as high as she can instead of tearing herself apart because she deserves to see the world from the sky, not the ground.

19. One thing you know now that you wish you had known as a kid?

You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing.

20. When did you suffer your first heartbreak?

Well, once again, I have not experienced any heartbreaks when it comes to boyfriends. But, I can say that I did have a piece of my heart ripped out when I was 18 (metaphorically, not physically), due to a different type of situation.

Ta da! There we have it — 20 random facts about me. I hope you guys enjoyed getting to know a little more about the awkward girl behind this blog, and if you’d like to share something about yourself, please do! I would love to know more about each one of you!

till next time, my lovelies

xoxo,

jules 💋
